Replacement Idea for Ectos for "High-end" trades
Well...what if there were a new item you could buy from the merchant for lets say 5k...and the value never changed...the item never dropped and it wouldnt go down in value. It was just like a token worth 5k. It could take the place of ectos without having to worry about the market down or doing what its doing right now.

Because if ANET wanted us to have a stable way to store large values of gold they wouldn't bother with something as complex as a fixed value item. Instead they would just remove the gold limit that they put there in the first place.

Just as bilateralrope said, it would be much easier to remove the limit. Ectos are still a great standard since the prices altar with the state of the market. They go up and down with the supply(which was, until last week, constant) and the demand(which is what generally determines the price)

I agree, with the TC. I am tired of trusting weather or not my ectos are going to be worth something week by week. I worked so hard for that money and maxed out my storage, So I had to buy ectos. Now that I have 380 or so ectos, every time it drops, (like recently) it hurts me alot. The rich should not be forced to gamble their money like this. There should be a safe and sturdy way for us to store our gold.
Also...why did anet add storage for us if we have more campaigns? Because we have more stuff, why didnt they just expand the amount of gold we can store by how many campaigns we have? say we own all 3 campains, let me put 3000K in there....
I pray for that day to come, if that doesn't happen, Then I pray for the day 5k "tokens" (which value will never change) comes.

And why would ANET introduce these tokens to get around a limit they imposed in the first place ?
To make a new item would require more work than removing the gold limit, especially since you would be wanting the tokens to have the same buy and sell prices at NPCs, unlike every other item in the game.

You poor poor thing.
How can you even keep on playing with 380 ectos in storage. That's not even humane. Nobody should ever be in such poverty and misery. I'm sure you get picked on a lot for not being to able to have inventory of all crystalines.
Yes, something needs to be done.
Please, think of the children.

There is no need for such things now. No item should be over 100k with the new system in place all the prices are dropping fast.
The limit is there because anet never intended the prices to be over 100k, this happened because at close to the beginning there was a trader glitch where all the rare materials and runes price were rolled back to like 250g and there was a mass buy out but anet didn't do a rollback for that one and a lot of people became very, very, very rich and so the prices went through the roof.

100k cap helps make market affordable for everyone.
In other games without cap, this will end up with some item priced at levels that just few ppl on a million can trade.

The 100k limit is there on purpose, is not flaw of the system.

Just remove the storage gold limit and keep the current gold limit on trade.

So you're telling me you own 380 ectos and you have the nerve to complain? Kids these days... I guess having more money than 99% of all guild wars players isn't good enough for you.

Neither. No ones need so much gold.
Gold over that amount is meat to be used, not saved.

Because nothing in this game is worth more then a 100K, except for a few rare skined items. If our limit was 300K, then ppl would sell items for 300K+ ectos or tokens. Truth being that some extremely rare skined items could be worth 500K to 1000K++, most items should not be sold for more then 100K, giving the fact that mods can be obtained a lot easier now, IMO

I complety agree. I want to buy an elemental sword that cost 100k+20 ecto. I have 300k, but no ecto because i do not farm ecto. Even though i have enought to buy it, I cannot because i lack ecto.

Also, I'd rather be paid in cash than in ecto that i have to sell and that might drop in price.

Everything works ok atm. If you need ectos, buys ectos, there are always plenty of people selling them.
